Maria is stunned to find out that Tony knew about the Carla and Liam footage of them kissing and her head starts to race with unanswered questions. She tells Tom that she wants to find out the truth and goes about questioning Dev and then Tyrone, who tells he that Jason reckoned the driver of the car didn't swerve or put the brakes on. This is all Maria needs to hear and she seizes on the news as proof Liam's death was no accident.

Louise plots Warren's downfall as their wedding day approaches. Concerned by Mandy's involvement in the wedding plans, Warren offers her £5,000 to leave Hollyoaks forever. But Mandy has other plans as she wants to help Louise so they can both get their revenge.

The day of Whitney's 16th birthday finally arrives and she is ready to leave the square with Tony – but he starts to stall and asks her to wait until Christmas or the New Year. She isn't happy with what he is saying and then Bianca makes her feel hugely guilty by presenting her with a china doll – to replace the one her birth mother had given her, but which got broken in one of the family's countless moves.

Jasmine is plagued by nightmares following the disposal of Shane's body. Debbie and Eli do their best to help and burn evidence as they tell Jasmine to try and carry on as normal. She finally resolves not to let Shane's murder ruin her life and she gets on with writing a story about the possible church closure. Debbie is relieved but can the girls get on with their lives?

There's a glamorous start to the week in Hollyoaks as Hannah finds herself on the red carpet of the MTV awards. Rhys and Gilly are not quite so lucky. They're out back busy trying to convince a security guard to let them in. Oh dear!G

The tension is high in Walford this week as we're all desperate to find out whodunit. Who knocked over Max Branning and put his life at risk? There are certainly plenty of people with serious motives.

Maria is struggling to get to grips with the fact that Liam is no longer with her. When Carla and Tony pop around to see her, Carla also struggles with the whole situation. Meanwhile, Tony manages to keep calm and successfully hides his involvement in Liam's death.

Andy's happy to be leaving hospital at the start of the week. But his glee is short lived when Diane tells him that Jo doesn't want him to return to the farm. This week sees Tanya and Jack trying to keep their move to France a secret from Tanya's possessive ex-hubby Max. However, seeing as Abi and Lauren have probably told half their friends at school and Jack has already told ex-girlfriend Ronnie, we don't fancy their chances of keeping that secret under their hats for long.
